This case is a housing for 3.5" eSATA hard drives making them external and connectable via the SATA connection in your system.

The new eSATA interface provides data transfer speeds up to 3GB/sec. As more and more people are working with large files such as DTP/graphical files and uncompressed video and audio. The need for a hard drive with high speed data transfer is more important then ever. 

Connected to eSATA, hard drives can perform at up to 6x times faster than a standard USB2.0 hard drive. For optimal flexibility and portability, the enclusure is also equipped with a USB2.0 connection, so you can connect it to any modern computer that does not have an external SATA interface.
