Motherboards - AMD & Intel

The motherboard, also sometimes referred to as the main board, is a collection of devices (together on one large circuit board) that control the flow of data and operating electricity for all the primary components in a PC - for example, the CPU, memory, graphics adapter and sound card.

Motherboards come in two different types;

AMD compatible - These motherboards are manufactured for AMD processors and are available for a full range of socket types from AMD Seprons to dual and quad core processor.
Intel compatible - These motherboards are manufactured for Intel processor and are available for Celeron processors right through to the super fast i7s.
